Brandwatch alternatives for small teams
Brandwatch is one of the most complete consumer intelligence platforms: years of social data, image recognition, audience analysis and dashboards for large teams. It does not publish prices. The pricing page offers "custom plans" and a free demo. For a small marketing team, an agency with a few clients or a founder, that is usually more than the job needs. Most small teams want to answer a few questions every week: what are people saying about us, about our competitors, and is anything going wrong?
Three kinds of alternatives

| Option | Examples | What you get | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free alerts | Google Alerts, F5Bot | Email when a keyword appears on the web, or on Reddit and Hacker News | You only need to know that something was posted |
| Subscription listening apps | Brand24, Mention, Awario | Dashboards, alerts, sentiment and reports on a monthly plan | Several people need a shared dashboard and instant alerts |
| Your AI with a data source | ProLevelMax with Claude or ChatGPT | Your AI pulls public posts and comments when you ask, then reads and summarises them | You want answers and summaries rather than a dashboard, and pay only for what you pull |
Brand24, for example, starts at $199 a month billed yearly for 3 keywords (see our Brand24 alternatives guide). Check each vendor's site for current prices.

When Brandwatch is still the right choice
- You need years of historical data, for example to compare this year's launch with last year's.
- A large team shares dashboards, and you report to leadership every week.
- You need image and logo recognition, or audience demographics.
- You cover news, blogs and forums at very high volume in many languages.
Worked example: one day of mentions for a consumer brand
We asked an AI tool for the 60 latest English posts on X that mention "Liquid Death", leaving out reposts. The run covered about 20 hours (27–28 October 2026) and cost $0.073 ($0.001 run fee + 60 × $0.0012).
What the AI found in the 51 posts we read in full:
Swipe to see more columns →
| What people talked about | Share of posts |
|---|---|
| A new Pop-Tarts flavour made with Liquid Death | about 7 in 10 |
| The same news article reposted by local news accounts | 23 posts |
| A Halloween drink made with Swig | 2 posts |
| Business news (funding, possible acquisition) | 2 posts |
| A complaint about a sweetener change in an energy drink | 1 post |
What a small team could take from this
- One launch dominated the day. A summary like this tells you in seconds whether the conversation is about your campaign or about something else.
- Many mentions came from news accounts reposting one article. Counting raw mentions would overstate how many people were talking; reading the posts shows the real picture.
- The single complaint about an ingredient change is the kind of post that gets lost in a dashboard of thousands. Asking the AI to list complaints separately brings it to the top.
What it costs to run every week
Example: check your brand and 2 competitors on X and Reddit once a week.
Swipe to see more columns →
| Item | Weekly usage | Price | Per month (about 4 weeks) |
|---|---|---|---|
| X posts | 3 runs × 100 posts | $0.0012 per post + $0.001 per run | about $1.45 |
| Reddit search | 3 calls | $0.003 per call | about $0.04 |
| Total | about $1.50 |
Reading full Reddit threads, TikTok comments or review sites adds to this. Live rates are on the pricing page. Your AI shows the price before every run, and you are never charged more than the quote.

Limits
- Public data only. Private accounts, messages and anything behind a login are not collected.
- No live dashboard or instant alerts. Scheduled runs save results to your run history; your AI reads and summarises them when you ask.
- No large historical archive. X and Reddit searches return what the platform shows now, which is mostly recent posts.
- Counts such as likes and views are the public numbers at the moment of the request.
